Experts Discuss the Ethical Implications of Artificial Intelligence

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is a rapidly advancing technology that is reshaping the way we live and work. With the potential to revolutionize industries and improve efficiency, AI also raises important ethical questions that need to be addressed. Two leading experts in the field, Ramayya Krishnan and Kaushal Chari, will be engaging in a fireside conversation to discuss the ethical implications of AI.

Ramayya Krishnan, Dean of Carnegie Mellon’s Heinz College of Information Systems and Public Policy, is a renowned expert on socially responsible applications of AI. With a background in management science and information systems, Dr. Krishnan has been actively involved in advising government agencies and policy-making organizations on technology policy and data-driven decision-making. His research focuses on consumer and social behavior in digitally instrumented environments, and he has published extensively on these topics.

Kaushal Chari, Sheldon B. Lubar Dean and Professor of Information Technology Management at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, brings a wealth of experience in applying AI approaches to practical problems in various domains. Dr. Chari’s research interests include software engineering, distributed systems, healthcare, and decision support systems. He has also served as an advisor to several startups and was recently appointed to the Wisconsin Governor’s Task Force on Workforce and Artificial Intelligence.
